The Selwyn Foundation - for faith in your future

Selwyn Village residents setting off on an excursionIf you love style, comfort, security, quality and genuine care, you will love The Selwyn Foundation's retirement villages.

The Selwyn name is synonymous with some of the most beautiful retirement village locations in the country. These offer true lifestyle - many adjacent to parks, beside the sea, or featuring lush and leafy park-like grounds with mature trees and gardens.

As one of the country's largest, not-for-profit providers of services to the older generation, The Selwyn Foundation is uniquely experienced in occupation right agreements, rest home, hospital and dementia care services across nine lovely villages in the upper North Island. For more than fifty years, the Foundation has served older people with integrity, warmth and respect. An originator of retirement villages and rest home care in this country, it remains New Zealand-owned and operated.

The Selwyn Foundation's pedigree, charitable status and Christian values are your assurance that quality service will be delivered with respect, compassion and with regard to your health and well-being at all times. We have no shareholders to satisfy.  Instead, all our surpluses are reinvested into the provision of additional services and other charitable activities.

Trying to decide whether to move to Selwyn Village? The last thing you should do is sleep on it!
When Diane and John Alexander decided to move into a retirement village, they did all their homework and visited as many as they could. They quickly settled on a new Paterson apartment in the popular Selwyn Village in Point Chevalier. With all their whiteware and a covered underground carpark included in the price, their new Paterson apartment made great financial sense. And because they made their minds up quickly, they secured a great apartment.

If you’re thinking about moving to Selwyn Village, don’t take too long to come and see us. Call us on 0800 4 SELWYN (0800 473 5996) for a tour of the Village at 43 Target Street, Point Chevalier.

Selwyn Centres

Hosted in association with Anglican churches throughout Greater Auckland and in Whangarei, the Selwyn Parish Partnership programme operates twenty-five Selwyn day centres from parish buildings, providing invaluable social interaction and - in some cases, respite services for carers - to over 500 older people each week.

The cost of attending the centres is $2 - $4 per session and, where a meal is provided, it is charged at cost ($6 or less). The centres are open from 9.15 am to midday (approx), and return transport can be arranged for a small donation. All centres have a time of gentle exercises, morning tea, social games and interaction.

Please see our venue listing for details of a Selwyn Centre near you.

Donations

The Selwyn Foundation genuinely appreciates every donation made to us.  As we are a charitable organisation, working for the benefit of older people, all donations are put to the best possible use, helping extend our mission to provide quality services to residents within our retirement villages, care facilities and the community at large.

A bequest is a simple way for you to show you care about the future of aged care services.  Bequests make a real difference to our work and to the lives of those whom we support and care for - for example, they help us in our outreach into the community and in our support for dementia care, as well as enhancing what we offer residents living within our residential villages.

We invite you to talk to your solicitor about including a bequest to The Selwyn Foundation in your will.
