The Selwyn Foundation acquires Sunningdale retirement village, Hamilton
The Selwyn Foundation is pleased to announce that it has acquired the Sunningdale RSA Veterans Rest Home and Retirement Housing complex in Hamilton.
The Foundation had assumed management of the facility’s administration processes and general operations in April, prior to the completion of a due diligence exercise. Now, as ‘Selwyn Sunningdale Village’, it becomes a member of the wider Selwyn Foundation group, one of New Zealand’s largest, not-for-profit providers of services to the elderly.
Located in Claudelands, central Hamilton, the village comprises a 33-bed rest home and eight rental units. It provides care services and retirement accommodation for mainly ex-service men and women and their dependents, although welcomes residents from non-service backgrounds.
This will be The Selwyn Foundation’s second retirement village in Hamilton and its third in the Waikato region. It owns Selwyn Wilson Carlile Village in Grey Street, which consists of a 39-bed rest home, a 20-bed hospital-level care facility and ten independent living villas. It also owns the 65-villa Selwyn St Andrews Retirement Village in the centre of Cambridge (whose manager was recently named category winner for the Retirement Village Association 2010 ‘Manager of the Year’ award).
To mark the handover from former owners, Hamilton RSA Veterans Home Trust, a service will be held on Friday, 13th August 2010, at 1.30pm in Sunningdale Hall, East Street, Hamilton.
