Selwyn Heights Rest Home Care

There is one 36 bed rest home at Selwyn Heights. Each resident has his or her own individual room, with toilet and hand basin adjacent. Rest home care includes registered nursing care 24 hours a day. A dining room with stunning views overlooks the bay.

There is a lounge for residents to spend time with family or friends, with tea and coffee making facilities. Visitors are warmly welcomed, and residents are encouraged to bring personal mementos, television sets, special pieces of furniture, pictures and photographs.

Facilities and Catering

a private phone may be installed in any room.(An additional fee applies)
newspapers can be delivered on request
wellness centre with visiting podiatrist, optician, hearing aid advisor and with a hairdressing salon
shopping can be organised via the small convenience store at Selwyn Heights
special diets and appetites are catered for.
guests can often be accommodated for lunch or dinner
the rest home is fitted with smoke detectors and sprinklers

Activities

a monthly timetable of activities is provided and an ‘activity hotline’ is updated daily
monthly happy hours, reading, crosswords, bingo, games, sing alongs, crafts and group discussions, birthday and other celebrations, concerts and movies
outings and shopping trips, and walks are also organised by Selwyn staff
