Selwyn Heights Hospital Care

 Selwyn Heights has a 66 bed hospital, set in its lovely grounds and overlooking the Manukau Harbour.

The hospital has single and double room accommodation for residents, and is staffed with registered nurses 24 hours a day.  Comprehensive medical services are also provided through two visiting medical officers.  Each wing of the hospital has a kitchenette where residents and their visitors are welcome to make tea or coffee. Some rooms have an adjacent private lounge.

 

Facilities and Catering

  • newspapers can be delivered on request
  • appointments such as for hair, podiatrist, physiotherapy, dentist, optician or doctor can be arranged via the receptionist
  • special diets and appetites are catered for, with input from a qualified dietician
  • the hospital is fitted with smoke detectors and sprinklers
  • limited rental accommodation for friends and family is available on site.
  • the village chaplain visits regularly and is available for counselling and support. Worship is held regularly in the hospital.
  • shopping can be organised via the small convenience shop at Selwyn Heights

Standard Room features include:

  • Fully adjustable electric hospital bed
  • Shared bathroom
  • Bedside cabinet
  • Built in wardrobe/drawers

Premium Room features include:

  • Larger room, able to take some lounge furniture
  • Shared bathroom

Super Premium Room features include: 

  • Extra large room with separate lounge area
  • Some with personal ensuite

 

 Activities

There is a wide range of activities on offer for residents, for enjoyment and to maintain mobility including:  carpet bowls, big print books, breakfast in bed, classical music, concerts, entertainment, indoor games, music, reading, outings, parties, pianists, sing alongs.
