Selwyn Wilson Carlile Rest Home Care

Selwyn Wilson Carlile’s 59 bed rest home is purpose built, with generous, inviting rooms (most with ensuites). There is room for residents to truly make themselves at home, and enough room to place some personal furniture and mementos, hang pictures and have their own television sets.

The rest home has several lounges and a spacious activities room.

There are registered nurses at hand and a fully trained diversional therapist, whose job it is to purpose-design appropriate activities programmes for residents, works full time at Selwyn Wilson Carlile.

Facilities and Catering

a private phone may be installed in any room (rentals are charged to residents through the telecommunications provider)
newspapers are available daily for general use
appointments such as for podiatrist, physiotherapy, dentist, optician or doctor can be arranged via reception
there is a chapel on site with weekly services
a hairdresser is available on site two to three days a week
special diets and appetites are catered for. If guests visit for lunch or dinner, they are welcome
all laundry is washed on site
all food is made in Selwyn Wilson Carlile’s food safety award winning kitchen
the rest home is fitted with smoke detectors and sprinklers

Activities

Activities are planned in advance and the programme is displayed so that families and residents can see what is planned.

happy hours, reading, crosswords, listening to music, bingo, outings and shopping trips – these are just examples of some of the wide range of activities organised by Wilson Carlile staff.
Special events such as for birthdays, Mother’s Day and so on are held to celebrate.
