Research

The Selwyn Centre for Ageing and Spirituality supports new research designed to deliver key information about ageing and spirituality. This is designed to help decision making for residents and patients of aged care facilities.

We provide a scholarship through The HOPE Foundation for post graduate students wishing to research ageing and spirituality.

The Selwyn Centre for Ageing and Spirituality also expects to commission research on topics of interest to us in the near future.

Literature Review
The New Zealand and world literature in ageing and spirituality has recently been reviewed. Dr Gillian Ried identified four areas that have been neglected in the research to date. These include:

caregivers and spirituality
spirituality and culture (particularly within an Aotearoa/New Zealand context)
the spirituality of ageing men
